"Springing up into Everlasting Life," 12 x 12 original watercolor.
Although barely visible, these gorgeous flowers are from a cactus. The most beautiful living thing, robed in scarlet, springs forth from a harsh, prickly stem. The most excruciating trials often bring forth surprising beauty. These flowers literally look like they're springing up, their vibrant energy bursting in all directions, pointing everywhere to everlasting life. This was his promise to the woman at the well, and to each of us, as he unlocked the powers of death and opened the way to life more abundantly here, and life everlasting beyond the grave. The desert is no longer a wasteland, but a place of infinite beauty. "Springing up into Everlasting Life," 12 x 12 original watercolor, from my Desert Metaphors series posted during Holy Week.
