"He went Into A Garden to Pray," 10 x 14 original watercolor, unframed.
We don’t often think of the stark desert as a garden per se, but in the springtime the desert is awash in color and life! When I came across this spot as I hiked, it looked just like Gethsemane to me. A place to kneel. A place to commune. An olive tree whose virgin fruit would be pressed whole. A place that both takes and gives life. There is brutality and harshness paired with light and immense beauty. There is reconciliation between the forces of nature and the forces of life. "He Went Into A Garden to Pray," 10 x 14 original watercolor, unframed. Part of my Desert Metaphors series posted during Holy Week. I used several granulating and mineral pigments to add texture and authenticity to the landscape. Painted on Fabriano Artistico, which has a linen-like finish. Save $125.
