Save 15%! 11 x 15 original watercolor, unframed. I imagine most of the nation carries a wish in their hearts for peace in the nation's capitol this year. I finished this just after Thanksgiving, barely meeting my November goal. But it felt so very right and appropriate. The first time I saw this building I was a teenager en route to stay with my aunt and uncle in Bethesda. All of a sudden we rounded a bend on the beltway and this amazing structure seemed to rise up out of nowhere. It looked like something out of a fairytale. When I had the chance to visit here later as an adult I loved this view with the spires reflected in the shallow pool, giving a sense of pattern and repetition and life stretching beyond mortality. There is the strongest sense of peace here, a peace that surpasses all understanding. The serenity is palpable. (Our daughter served a mission in Baltimore, and I love thinking about all the indescribably good people we’ve met in Maryland and West Virginia who worship here.)
